Market Intelligence Intern
-
May 2017 - Jul 2017
While interning at MaRS my primary role was to help conduct the annual Market Intelligence client satisfaction survey. This project involved updating the survey to reflect changes that had occurred with Market Intelligence services since the previous year’s survey. Adjustments to the format and design of the survey were made to provide mobile phone users a better experience. Next, we developed and deployed an email marketing strategy. Finally, the data was cleaned, analyzed, and organized into a final slide deck. Programs/Services used: SurveyMonkey, SPSS, Excel, and PowerPoint I was also given the opportunity to work with the Work and Learning team to help provide insights to improve future versions of the Entrepreneurship 101 course. This was done by analyzing data collected on previous cohorts via course completion rates, surveys, instant messaging conversations, and website traffic data. Programs/Services used: Formstack, Typeform, SchoolKeep, Wistia, Google Analytics, PowerPoint, Tableau, and Excel. Another task that I performed was secondary research for entrepreneurs. During this process entrepreneurs would send us a list of questions that they wanted answered to help accelerate their business. From here we would check all the relevant databases for comprehensive reports, charts, and statistics that would help answer the proposed questions and then send these resources back in a timely manner. Databases used: Euromonitor, BCC Research, BI Intelligence, CB Insights, eMarketer, Forrester, Frost and Sullivan, Gartner, IBIS World, and MarketsandMarkets Show less

During my years at Foodland I was asked to take on leadership roles by helping to train new employees as well as supervise evening shifts. I would often be given multiple tasks at once and had to manage and prioritize effectively to make best use of my time and resources. I was also trusted with the store keys and passwords to receive and authorize shipments while also keeping detailed records. I would also assist co-workers, managers, and customers in a cordial and coherent manner.
