Bio
Leonid Petrov
To whom is may concern: I have known Konrad Mathesius since 2007 as a multilingual, enthusiastic, and hard-working young man. When he was pursuing the MA degree in Asian Studies at the ANU, I advised him on research and thesis writing. Konrad was also a member of our Australian-French Study Delegation to visit North Korea in October-November 2007. He has a keen interest in and growing proficiency of the Korean language and culture. His thesis "The Origins of Political Religion in the DPR Korea" (2008) became a valuable contribution to the field of North Korea Studies. I therefore recommend him unreservedly and without hesitation. Leonid A.
