  As a Sustainable Land Management Expert, I provide technical advisory and support in the assessment of land degradation activities, interventions, and mitigation measures in the Limpopo basin (in the four Member States of LIMCOM, i.e., Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe). My duties include but are not restricted to:> Assisting in the establishment and execution of knowledge-sharing initiatives with other River Basin Organizations to gain insights into their sediment transport monitoring and modelling approaches.> Supporting the collection of data and sediment modelling at selected key locations in the basin to further strengthen the baseline for the interventions at pilot sites.> The identification of private sector entities situated in the pilot sites and their engagement regarding the feasibility of Payment for Ecosystem Services aimed at enhancing ecosystem services.> Facilitating the establishment of a monitoring framework aimed at appraising the effectiveness of SLM measures such as monitoring of soil erosion, sediment transport rates, and aquatic environmental conditions.   I am responsible for the coordination of in-country activities in accordance with GWPSA internal controls and protocols, and the ICM Project Grant Agreement. I am also mandated to support the implementation of assigned GWPSA Regional transboundary projects under the Africa Water Investment Programme portfolio on Transboundary PIDA Water Investments within the SADC region and Africa.

  I have been appointed as the Country Project Officer to support Lesotho Integrated Catchment Management and be responsible for the coordination, monitoring and reporting of in-country day-day activities following Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWP SA) internal controls and protocols, and the Project Grant Agreement. Under the leadership of the GWPSA Transboundary and Environment Specialist, I will be working with the Lesotho ICM Coordination Unit and the GIZ Lesotho teams. Amongst other duties, I remain responsible to support the implementation of project activities, including planning and liaison with project stakeholders in Lesotho and act as the focal point for GWP supported activities in Lesotho.
