During the latter stages of my PhD, I co-founded a company to develop a smart label for monitoring temperature-sensitive supply chains. At it's core, the company demonstrated that this novel application could be chemically engineered using previously established materials (liquid crystals, known from LCD screens). This ethos I employ daily in my current sales role. During the latter stages of my PhD, I co-founded a company to develop a smart label for monitoring temperature-sensitive supply chains. Within a consortium consisting of ASML, IMEC, Philips, and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), I spearheaded the development of a new class of materials for next generation semiconductor manufacturing. Through carefully balancing the needs of the these industrial and academic stakeholders, the research garnered awards, was recognized at international conferences, and published in a collection of high-impact academic journals. As part of the directed self-assembly team I investigated nanomaterials for next generation semiconductor patterning. Within a limited time-frame the technical advantages of a new material were quantified & demonstrated to senior management.
