Worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the cardiac, surgical and medical intensive care units, trauma center, emergency department and the general floors. Perform diagnostic tests, such as arterial blood gas analysis and cardiopulmonary functions tests. Operate and monitor respiratory equipment to administer treatments such as oxygen, oxygen-air mixtures, humidified air or medications. Operate, monitor, maintain and test a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Assess patients and perform or assist with interventions such as airway maintenance, line insertions, inductions and intubations. Perform artificial respiration and external cardiac massage. Assist with transport of high-risk patients. Worked with respiratory protocols including protocols for ventilator management, ARDSnet, patient assessment, aerosol treatments and lung expansion. Experienced with the Servo 900C, Puritan-Bennett 840, Avea and Vella ventilators as well as with the 3100B HFOV, Pulmonetic LVT1000 and LVT1200 ventilator and the CPAP/BiPAP vision. Show less
