I was elected to the Board of Directors for "den kommunale dagpleje i Gentofte Kommune" in 2016. This board consists of 4 parent representatives and 1 representative from the personal daycare. I agreed to stand for election after taking a big part in saving the daycare from being shut down by the local politicians in Gentofte. A part of being on the board was negotiating the terms of the cost savings that were imposed on the daycare. A three months’ maternity leave cover where I was responsible for upscaling a laboratory synthesis for pilot plant testing. In the process I optimized the synthesis from being a two-step synthesis to a one-step, which would make it cheaper to produce the product, but also easier to separate and purify the product as less catalyst was used for the synthesis.
