As Design Lead for the Product Studio, I worked closely with Creative Directors and Product Team to set the vision, conceptualize, and execute ideas to meet the needs of our clients -- while always working with the team to bring a few unexpected ideas to the table. My role as Design Lead also included ownership of Global Trend Research, applying methods from foresight and cultural trend analysis to define new opportunities in Product Design and Color, Material & Finish for global tech clients. Always driving for insight to action, these programs were crafted to move from inspirational decks through final technical specifications. Working at Cinco offered me the unique opportunity to stretch from my core focus of Product Design, to engage closely with the Strategy studio. In this overlap of disciplines, I honed skills in the areas of: Trend Forecasting, Research and Analysis, and Market & Consumer Insights. At Philips I worked within the expansive Consumer Lifestyle category, focusing on the design of Kitchen Appliance and Health & Wellness products. A highlight was co-leading the creative approach and product design of ROBUST, a signature collection of kitchen appliances that included a Food Processor, Dual-blade Blender, Immersion Blender, and Hand Mixer. I was invited to join the far-future R&D Design Probes program in the exploratory space of 'Skin' , and contributed by participating in secondary research, and large and small team workshops. Throughout each design program while Philips, I collaborated closely with the Marketing, Trend, CMF, and Strategy teams to create relevant products designed and driven by consumer needs supported by applying human-center design methods. 'Propeller is a strategic design agency. We help our clients' businesses grow through the cunning use of consumer insight, creating meaningful output and deliver actionable results. Think of us as a ’hands-on’ filter between client and customer.' As a Product Designer, I worked on a range of projects from Consumer Products to Medical Devices, Color/Material/Finish, and Graphic Design. I am most grateful to have observed, participated, and gained an understanding of the essential, human-centered approach and thoughtful philosophy of Scandinavian design.
