  First citizen of Cheltenham between May 2017 - May 2018, I represented our beautiful town at hundreds of business, charity and community events as well as promoting Cheltenham to visitors from overseas, as well as Chairing meetings of Cheltenham Borough Council. During my Mayoral year, through the Mayor's Charity Appeal (reg charity 1118165), I fundriased for the Hollie Gazzard Trust and the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity's Focus Fund, greatly helped to do so by my amazing Charity Committee; Karen Organ, Richard Smith, Nick Gazzard, Kiresten Hinton, Lorelei Symes, Hon Alderman John Rawson and former Cllr Jon Walklett. Also of help were Maralyn Reynolds and Sarah Jane Griffiths who each organised a charity fundraising event for us.We organised 15 charity events, 3 bucket collections, had wonderful help from the Miss Cheltenham Finalists who spent weeks raising a huge sum for us as well as #TeamMayor who ran the Chelt Half to raise money for my charity appeal. All of our events and fundraising along with very generous donations raised the record breaking sum of just over £50,000 to be divided equally between the two charities.
