I worked at two projects. The first was an online payment solution build with C#, OpenApi + Vue.js hosted in Azure. The second project was in risk mitigation and and old Visual Basic Codebase that needed to be a bit more future proof. We only need you as a freelance consultant for three months.. Three years later.. I started out developing their new global Sitecore website, together with a large team of developers. After the go-live of www.home.saxo, we read the cards and knew we were going to onboard 8-10 developers, here entering a DevOps role. At that time it took us 3-4 days to get our developer machines up and running. So we split up, one worked on automating our live database being able to be restored locally + on our test environments and me focusing on creating a Power Shell-based "new developer" script, which could set up a new developer environment in less than a day. The next step where the release process, it took 45 unstable minutes to release to live, we could do that part better. I build upon the new developer script and created a new script, where we could point our TFS release job to a new server, and then the script would install a clean Sitecore, add our code base and set up the IIS (if needed) in less than 12 minutes. Since then we have focused on improving our stable, live running environment one improvement at the time. The latest and greatest have been initiating a migration to IAAS and then PAAS in Azure while keeping all our existing automation. Show less
