With a sister company called Royal Blue Fishing Ltd which trades fresh and frozen fish and all kinds of seafood to hotels and supermarkets. But most of my life has been in aviation, initially as an army pilot and then as a north sea captain and later, a manager, of helicopter operations on the British offshore oil fields. I am a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautiical Society. We launched the first air transfer system in Maldives in 1989, operating between the island hotels and airport where I was founder and CEO of Hummingbird Helicopters and Hummingbird Island Airways - now sold to an American Private Equity company - Blackstones. Then, with son Tom, launched Hummingbird Travel throughout the Indian Ocean - and Royal Blue Fishing in Maldives. Hummingbird is an IT led company managing Indian Ocean Destinations (currently Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Seychelles) for tour operators and agents wishing to add these destinations to their portfolios, contracting hotel rooms and ground services for them and managing their guests throughout their stays in country. Royal Blue Fishing built and owned two 85 ft tuna fishing vessels in Maldives, exporting tuna to supermarkets in UK and Europe. It now has a processing factory in Maldives and supplies fresh and frozen fish and seafood to the hotels and resorts of Maldives. The companies are wholly owned by the Chambers family - and sons, Alex and Tom are the joint Managing Directors, running the operation from offices in London. The back office consisting of IT (the largest section of the company, with an entirely Maldivian team of developers), accounts and reservations, is in Male , the capital of Maldives with a full scale office, also, in Sri Lanka.
