I improved the working practises within the Devon and Cornwall Surveying department by creating and implementing efficient business processes, hiring additional temporary staff to cope with workload and redesigning the office management structure. The outcome: a far more streamlined work process, happier staff, managers and clients, and a more successful business. I managed the business processes of an MOD Through-Life Support contract with A&P Group. The contract covered the support and maintenance of 5 Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels - the Bay Class and PCRF vessel RFA Argus - within UK waters and in Joint Operational Areas such as Bahrain and Dubai. Additional to the responsibilities I kept from my previous roles, I managed the performance of all civilian contractors, my A&P colleagues and MOD colleagues through KPIs and regular cross-board meetings, reporting to senior MOD and A&P personnel on a monthly basis. On an annual basis I prepared, ran and recorded the Annual Performance Review, which was attended by senior members of the MOD Afloat Support and RFA. My colleagues and I successfully negotiated a further 5 year extension to the TLS contract, subsequent to successful Value For Money reviews that were mandated by the contract. Show less

Additional to the responsibilities of CONDO Manager, I took on the monitoring of the contract Key Performance Indicators that recorded the CST's compliance with their contract. The KPIs and consequential Monthly Performance Review meetings monitored both A&P and MOD performance, allowing the processes laid down in the contract to be refined on an ongoing basis.I also took on risk reviewing for each ship's maintenance periods, whether in the UK or overseas, and helped to create and monitor additional processes for a new procurement contract awarded to the CST for RFA equipment and supplies. • RFA CONDO Manager
      • Aug 2009 - Oct 2009

I joined the A&P Cluster Support Team to manage the CST's compliance with the newly-introduced MOD Contractors on Deployment Overseas (CONDO) regulations, which impacted heavily on the MOD Through-Life Support contract that A&P held for 5 Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships. I wrote and managed the compliance processes for CONDO, which dictated that all civilian contractors deploying to service any RFA vessel that is within a Joint Operational Area were to undergo training, medicals and security checks before leaving the country. I designed the processes to fit efficiently with the current running of the CST in order to minimise impact on maintenance programmes and to fit with the ships' movement schedules. This role included liaising with RFA and MOD personnel, both within the CST in Cornwall and at MOD Abbeywood in Bristol, as well as over 50 civilian companies that were subcontracted to carry out work on the RFA vessels within the CST contract.
