Whilst travel has always been a passion of mine, I decided to take a plunge into a new career path as well as head back to studying. Having passed all my exams for my AAT Foundation Certificate, I am looking forward to starting the AAT Level 3 Accountancy Diploma shortly. Whilst working within a chartered accountancy firm, I now focus my attention on VAT returns, CIS Returns and Annual Accounts. I feel throughout my working career I have gained various skills and knowledge that can be used in a multitude of industries and would hope that they can be built upon in this new adventure of mine. • Sales Supervisor
      • Sep 2011 - Aug 2016

Having worked in both operations and commercial departments, I transferred to the sales floor as a Sales Supervisor to develop my management skills. The role comprised staff management, training and customer service assistance to ensure sales were maximised. Through a focus on statistics and listening to calls, I ensured that staff were working to the best of their ability and identified any training requirements. In addition to my primary duties, I worked hard to ensure our clients received the best possible price by regularly reviewing competitors’ offers. Any discrepancies were fed back to the commercial team for further investigation. On various occasions I also stood in as duty manager, covering the out of hours duty phone and dealing with emergency customer queries. Show less

Moved departments in 2008 to take up a Commercial and Product Executive role, allowing me to broaden my knowledge and experience. Focusing on developing the Africa product, I worked closely with suppliers (both hoteliers and airlines) to negotiate commercially favourable rates. I also managed the updating of the Africa website including pricing, copy and imagery and was tasked with providing competitive analysis for the product manager. In addition to my core responsibilities, I was also involved in the SEO/PPC meetings, assisting the accounts department with the resolution of invoice discrepancies and supplementing the sales team during peak periods.Throughout this period, I reported directly to the product director and was regularly entrusted to represent the company at supplier meetings and events. These included the World Travel Market, NEC and Bluewater Wedding Shows and various African Tourist Board Events. Show less
