I was part of the Irish Mediation Team that represented the Law Society of Ireland in the International Law School Mediation Competition 2019. During the tournament I gained invaluable experience of different aspects of the mediation process including team work, interpersonal skills, communication and collaboration skills to name a few. My participation on the team will prove very beneficial in my legal career going forward. "FLAC is an independent human rights organisation dedicated to the realisation of equal access to justice for all." As the secretary in the FLAC society I organised different seminars and events which provided student members with an overview of different areas of the legal system in Ireland. I also organised various FLAC clinics throughout the year and liaised with Solicitors and Barristers who attended the clinics. The Clinics were organised for students who may have needed advice from legal practitioners and made legal advice more accessible. Show less

The Innocence Network is a global organization which consists of volunteers who work to provide pro-bono investigative and legal assistance to individuals who are seeking to prove that they have been wrongly convicted and are innocent of the crimes for which they were convicted. As a case manager with the Innocence Project I experienced case work first hand in terms of drafting and reviewing legal documents, studying the facts of each case and investigating each individual's claim that they were wrongfully convicted . I also conducted numerous research projects on different areas of criminal law which were relevant to the cases at hand. This enabled me to improve and expand on my research skills outside of the classroom whilst also working as part of a team. Show less
