  My role at Elaine Hooley Design Ltd involves designing and managing various items of womenswear which have been selected and produced by fashions stores including; White Stuff, Debenhams, TKMaxx, Next and Laura Ashley.Included in my responsibilities and duties:• Ensuring I am a commercially driven designer capable of producing for all areas of surface design. Including; print, embroidery and embellishment.• Developing mood and trend boards inspired by market research and catwalk trends. These mood boards are used to direct both product developers in Hong Kong and studio designers.• Designing from initial concept through to final product. Directing and liaising with colleagues in China to meet deadlines.• Liaising with and building relationship with clients; attending meetings and scheduling ‘catch-up’ calls. • Following clients brief and developing open-to-buy for the studio.• Painting and hand drawing artworks then digitally altering using Adobe Creative Suite.• Preparing samples and swatches ready for production. Including; picking pantone colours, threads and yarns.• Organising regular market research. Including; visiting shops visits exhibitions.
