Representing both Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation, I led a national team of nine regional fundraising managers and developed and implemented the stores fundraising strategy to raise £17.3million across a network of nearly 3,000 stores and over 350,000 colleagues over three years. Through developing strong relationships with a variety of senior stakeholders and key decision makers at Tesco, identifying new opportunities for fundraising activity and events (including high-value mass participation events such as the Great Tesco Walk, which generated over £1.2m and is the largest event of its kind in Tesco’s history) and an ability to take an analytical and objective view to developing solutions to complex problems, I generated an additional 15.3% against the original £15million stores income budget and contributed 69.2% of the £25million total raised by the Tesco National Charity Partnership.
