Kathleen Reyes
Kristen is an effective communicator and has excellent facilitation and organizational skills. She thrives in dynamic environments and makes great effort to build interpersonal relationships. As a student coordinator Kristen co-managed a team of Resident Advisors (RAs) and was responsible for their training and professional development in: Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership, Community Development, and Conflict and Resolution Management. Kirsten is always driven to develop her skills as a teacher. She arrived at our school as a recent graduate and a daunting task of teaching students who have historically been academic underperformers. Kirsten stepped up to the plate in the classroom and in our community; she has lead engaging inquiry based classes, organized class trips to local universities, and creating a sexual education curriculum that includes social and emotional development. Kirsten has a wonderful rapport not only with the rest of the staff but also her students. Her ability to connect with her students, while still delivering advanced content are truly superior. She is a dynamic teacher who supports her students by providing a wide opportunities for her student to experience scientific phenomena, and also express their knowledge.
