Philips Research Eindhoven, in collaboration with Philips Hamburg. Internship project, 20 ECTS. Graded: 8.5/10 The topic of my research project was Comparison of 2D versus 3D deep learning for white matter hyperintensity segmentation in multiple sclerosis (MS). Having done my graduation project on segmentation and MS, this was the perfect opportunity for me to expand upon my work in an industry setting. Because my time on this research was limited, I have focussed on validating the framework implemented by Philips. Furthermore, I helped in getting an understanding the differences of 2D versus 3D networks while working with 2D MRI scans. Show less

Graduation project, 60 ECTS. Graded: 8/10 Abstract accepted as ePoster at ECTRIMS 2021 The topic of my research: Deep gray matter segmentation in multiple sclerosis: a deep learning approach. Because of personal experiences in charity work, I became interested in multiple sclerosis. I was able to combine my personal interests in this pathology with my interests in image analysis and programming. My contribution consisted of setting up, training and optimizing deep learning models. Being part of a unique team of researchers, clinicians and technicians gave me unique insights that helped me elevate my work. Show less
