      At Necsa, I worked as a process engineer while being based at Pelchem and NTP production facilities. Here I gained experience working in a hazardous fluorochemical and nuclear isotope production plant environment, while executing various engineering changes and plant optimisation projects. Pelchem and Nuclear Technology Products (NTP) are both subsidiaries of Necsa. Pelchem is involved in the production of specialty fluorochemicals with various industrial applications and NTP is a global leader in the production and supply of nuclear radiation-based products. Pelchem duties: - Ensure that the Fluorine plant to running at optimum capacity with minimum downtime. - Problem solving on all aspects of an engineering nature. - Evaluating & improving the HF recovery system in the Fluorine Production Plant. - Engineering calculations including mass & energy balances, line sizing, equipment sizing, heat exchanger design calculations, ASPEN simulations, etc. - Optimization projects to improve capacity, production, safety and quality while minimizing plant downtime & operating costs. - Generating and implementing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) on the Fluorine Plant. - Maintain and improve plant equipment, product lines, raw materials & product specifications. - Ensure all relevant plant documents and drawings are updated and maintained. - Assist in incident investigations (design reviews/HAZOP analysis) and implement actions of an engineering nature if required. Nuclear Technology Products (NTP) duties: - Prepared a basic engineering package for the construction and operation of a new Molybdenum (Moly‐99) plant to be built in Australia. - Document all engineering aspects of the existing Moly‐99 plant. - Prepare PFDs, PIDs, valve / line / equipment lists, engineering memos and process descriptions based on the operation and design of the existing facility as part of the basic engineering package. - Conduct design reviews and HAZOP studies for the new plant package.
