Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is one of top 10 ranked logistics companies in the world across 225 world cities in 126 countries. I joined Hellmann in 2006 as an Assistant Accountant of a start up direct investment and was promoted to Accountant in 2008 and served in the role of financial controller until 2014. Some of the key skills I develop at Hellmann was communicating and presentations to International board of directors , setting up a sound internal control system to meet the demand of business expansions and spearheading to budget process and budgetary control systems and developing Key Performance Indicators and monitoring performance levels of operational and marketing teams. Building negotiating skills with all carrier operators on credit facilities as well as banking institutions on financing projects was mandatory. In addition to managing statutory and internal finance audit compliances I played an active role in setting up ISO standards of the network. Apart from my knowledge of IFRS and taxation which was key to technical success I represented my company many times to lobby for the negative impacts of regulations on our industry. One of the greatest challengers I excelled in is setting up a financial reporting system to cater to local , regional and Parent (HQ) reporting formats and deadlines. I had to manage parallel financial systems of two major equity holders and work towards migration of systems to one. Working with a customer base of over 300 evaluating credit policies and feasibility of special projects was a major area of my work. As evident with all start up operations I had to work from ground zero level upwards building and mentoring a finance team from 2 to 11 members , setting up financial processors with cross departmental teams . My direct reporting was to the managing director of the organization of strategic financial activities and well to the regional chief financial officer on group reporting activities. Show less
