The event is in its 23rd year in 2015 and expects to attract over 8,000 participants (larger than the Commonwealth Games).Sport Liaison Officer for Football, Hockey, AFL, Athletics and Netball. One of seven Sport Liaison Officer roles across the event providing support and guidance to the competition management teams at each of the designated sports to ensure the competition was delivered effectively.

Elected in UK’s largest student leader elections, my primary objective as Sports Officer is to champion and protect the sporting interests of students, representing any individual who uses the gym just once a week to our highest performing elite athletes. In order to successfully meet these objectives I am required to engage at the University's most important strategic meetings, working alongside Pro Vice Chancellors, the Director of Sport and UoN Sport Department staff.I oversee the running of 72 sports clubs, an intra-mural sports programme with a weekly through put of 3,600 students. I engage with students on a day to day basis, empowering them to get the best of their sporting experience whilst at university. I am also responsible for management of budgets/sponsorship in excess of £600,000, strategic guidance of sporting events, recruitment of sports staff and project management regarding sports facility.My subsidiary role as a Trustee and Company Board Member requires me to oversee the union’s strategy and performance of the organisation, which generates annual revenue of more than £8,000,000.
