Da Verse is an all-gender all-race vocal ensemble cleverly named for its celebration of diversity and currently the only Black performance group of its kind at UCLA. We commemorate our student body's racial and creative diversity by performing original Black arrangements at various cultural and volunteer events. Getting the club off the ground required innovative approaches to membership outreach, careful planning, and perseverance. Today, the club evolves to better address students' needs and functions as a space for minorities to relieve the neglected stress of attending a predominantly White institution. Show less

As a student fundraiser, I was responsible for reaching out to alumni and current students to persuade them to donate to campus organizations and answer any questions posed by prospective donors regarding the university. I specifically advocated for the campus's Counseling and Psychological Services and the newly opened Resilience In your Student Experience Center. We raised thousands to increase student access to alternative mental health services, such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices. As a result, the program's reach grew, and many students began to sign up for classes at the center. Show less
