My research agenda is focused on disciplinary writing in science teaching and learning for adolescent students. I specifically examine in-service secondary teachers' practices of disciplinary writing, the factors which promote student mastery of federal and state standards, and approaches for addressing disciplinary writing in the science classrooms.
