I was fortunate to work with Kim at Academic Year in America (AYA) for several years and witnessed first-hand, her impressive set of skills, winning personality and relentless work ethic. She is adept at working well with multiple constituencies and inspires those around her with her passion and enthusiasm for intercultural exchange. As Program Development Director, Kim spearheaded the initiative to apply for and win the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Grant, awarded to AYA by the US Department of State. Kim managed a large team responsible for the successful administration of this program as well as for securing appropriate homestay/school placements for non-grant students. Regardless of the situation, Kim held her team to high standards and always achieved time sensitive goals. She was able take charge of challenging situations by carving them up into manageable pieces for her team to digest, making it interesting and fun all the while. She possesses strong interpersonal skills and brings a spirited energetic, likable human element to every professional situation. Kim’s work ethic, intelligence and positive outlook make her an outstanding visionary leader and asset to any company or executive business team.

Kim encourages and inspires the teams that she manages. She turned our District around during a rough period at YFU (both in terms of morale and productivity), and she did so by acknowledging and building upon the unique strengths of each team member. Kim made us feel comfortable enough to call on her when there was trouble, and she actively helped us navigate around issues as they arose. I wholeheartedly recommend her talents as a leader and manager.

As the Western Field Representative, I work with the Stamford HQ to assist in the hiring and training of the staff in the Western states. Our western team ensures a quality program is maintained and delivered in new areas. Our overall western market share has doubled over the past decade. I also sit on the AIFS and APIA DEI committees as an ally for change. As a cross-cultural trainer, I have designed trainings and run webinars nationally with a focus on cross-cultural education. As a social scientist, my trainings are committed to combining theory with practice. As a Senior Community Counselor for Au Pair In America, I have the pleasure of working with au pairs from over 55 countries and their host families. This role utilizes my mediation, cross cultural communication and problem solving skills. With an eye to measured growth and ensuring the highest standard of quality, I have grown the program in the area by nearly 700%. Recently advocating and testifying as a supporter of the J-1 visa programs, we successfully helped to educate Congressional law makers on our numerous safeguards, the relationship with the Department of State and protect a cultural exchange program and all it's participants in WA state. http://blogs.aupairinamerica.com/sse/meet-the-counselor/ Show less
