I am the back up Identity Theft Coordinator and handle the Western District of Michigan for the IRS-Criminal Investigations. This entails contacting victims of identity theft and other law enforcement officers who have leads for identity theft cases. I also train local law enforcement and financial institutions on the latest issues the IRS is facing with identity theft and what to look out for signs of identity theft. I investigated one of the largest identity theft case in the nation. I was the lead Case Agent on the indictment and prosecution of 33 individuals who worked together to steal $27 million in false tax refunds with over six thousand tax returns. I lead and coordinated the work of agents and detectives from eight different local and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate the case. Show less
