Developed the 2001, 2003 and 2004 survey instruments with the Department of Health staff, including a new section to properly identify insurance coverage in Utah. These numbers were used directly by the Governor of Utah.Was part of a the State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC) at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, Division of Health Services Research and Policy’s group of invited state health policy analysts which discussed strategies used to collect quantitative data on the number and characteristics on uninsured individuals at the state and sub-state (e.g., region, county) levels. Maintained immediate and long-term sampling plan for the 2001, 2003 and 2004 HSS. Co-Chaired Health Survey Advisory Committee, 2001-2004. Managed data collection for the 2001, 2003 and 2004 Health Status Surveys. Supported use of HSS data by placing HSS data on IBIS as queriable data. Continually assessed data quality, testing data every two weeks during collection. Conducted analyses and prepared reports based on the collected 2001, 2003 and 2004 Health Status Survey data. Created SAS programs to structure, weight, and format HSS 2001, 2003 and 2004 data. Worked with staff of the OPHA, representatives of UDOH programs, and external users of HSS data such as local health department staff, to develop and maintain an analysis and reporting plan for HSS, including schedule of reports and analyses, and plan for disseminating results/reports. Conducted analyses of HSS data and prepared reports according to analysis/reporting plan. Conducted ad hoc analyses and prepared results as requested to meet needs of Department staff and others. Acted as steward of all HSS data.
