I always tell people that if they ever have the opportunity to work for Delta they should do so. Throughout my tenure, at Delta, I met and worked with some of the most amazing people on the planet. Starting out my career working on the ramp at LAX, my work ethic ensured I quickly progressed to a role as a ticketing/baggage agent upstairs. My career led me through several promotions and stations in the United States. As a Performance Leader, I learned more in hands-on knowledge than a book can ever teach. Being able to multi-task under intense pressure. Hire, lead and coach tenured employees through a tough but successful merger. Execute world-class customer service under constantly variable situations. Decisive leadership without hesitation and assessing to create better dynamics next time if necessary. Fiscal and operational needs had to be balanced with administrative needs. Payroll, Human Resources, Networking all were balanced with customer service needs. It's hard to summarize what a career at Delta Air Lines entailed. Blizzards in Green Bay and trying to ensure the Packers 747 could get off the runway for the Super Bowl. Oversold flights at LAX during the holidays at the International Counter. Hurricane preparedness in Charleston, flight diversions in Vail with a new computer system we didn't know. Countless passengers traveling to meaningful destinations that needed required assistance or reassurance. Time-sensitive work environments with new team members and regulations from multiple agencies to satisfy. It was wonderful! Every minute of it! Only when I married did I pursue a career change to create a more predictable home-life schedule. Show less
