Worked on a team that sought out to build an innovative device that would expedite the discectomy process and ensure ample removal of nuclear material of a herniated disc as per request by Depuy Spine Incorporated, a Johnson & Johnson company. The device used oscillating blades as the cutting mechanism to sever nuclear material in conjunction with an irrigation and suction system that had a dual purpose of delivering saline solution to the intervertebral disc area and provided a lumen for the removal of the disc material. In Introduction to Engineering Design, my team built a projectile motion machine for middle school students. It was composed of a pressurized water system that would emit a stream of water from a spout in which the angle between the stream and horizontal could be adjusted. Projectile motions at different angles were depicted against a grid so the maximum height and distance could be recorded.
