Kimberley is a very dedicated, knowledgeable and confident trainer, with a very personable helpful training style. I was very lucky to have her guidance within the training room and continuous support throughout the business as a whole. It would be my great pleasure to work with her again in the future.

During my time at HC-One, my role was to facilitate training and development of new and existing care home colleagues through group training sessions, one-to-one, bespoke training and supporting blended learning approaches (including an award-winning Learning Management System). Identifying training needs was a key aspect of the role to ensure management and delivery of most appropriate format and subject of training. Feedback was essential in this role; from homes (including staff, residents and visitors), area and regional management teams, and inspectorate body reports.

This full-time training role centred around training delivery. This involved both scheduled courses as well as courses at customer premises; typically on First-Aid subjects but also Fire Marshal and Moving and Handling courses. An enormously enjoyable and engaging role, relevant to both my background in Health and Social Care as well as my PGCE training qualification. This role has given me fantastic opportunities for self-development and CPD, and has taught me the importance of using approved sources of information as a basis for teaching and learning.

In this care home for seniors, my role was to lead a team of care staff as part of a shift-based work pattern. Responsibilities included administering medication, liaising with residents, families and healthcare professionals, following up on incidents and concerns, documentation of daily notes, care plans and handover meetings and making logical snap decisions. I was also an in-house trainer on various subjects; primarily Moving and Handling but also short one-off presentations and sessions such as dining room service, blood pressure and catheter management.

Following my placement at the college from 2011 - 2013, I was offered this exciting role as lecturer in music and drama at entry level. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and the various challenges that came with being quickly immersed into the busy and energetic teaching environment mid-year as a newly qualified PGCE PCET teacher. By far, my favourite part was getting to know the students and helping them to explore and engage in the process of developing aspects of their characters through music and drama.

This was a job I worked in for over four years to support me through my college and university education. I trained new members of staff, and enjoyed this challenging, busy role.McDonald's is a great place to work, and really encourages you to build essential life skills. There are so many opportunities for development and progression, too, and I always recommend it highly as a place to work.
