Dana Patterson

During Kimber’s term as an Environmental Policy Intern for our Toxics and Conservation Program, she researched information for disadvantaged communities in New Jersey whose lives have been destroyed by reckless toxic waste dumping that was never cleaned up, including the Pompton Lakes DuPont Works and American Cyanamid Superfund sites. She has spoken with many case managers, residents, and government officials to obtain appropriate information that was used to advocate for protective site cleanups. Kimber’s creative, yet concise writing skills were accentuated when she wrote testimony and letters for public meetings as well as editorials for our conservation blogs. She also represented EWA at multiple tabling events, rallies and press conferences, including a high-profile hearing with the Mother of Superfund Lois Gibbs and Governor Florio. Kimber holds tremendous promise within the environmental movement, and her insightful intelligence bodes well in any field she may choose to pursue.
