At the moment, I am involved with the day to day bookkeeping and accounting for ten small companies within the group. The company functions vary from venue hire (with some event management), property rental, to construction, the provision of intergroup services and retail. My role has included a catch-up of historic data capture, transfer of the accounting databases from Pastel to Evolution, processing customer quotes and invoicing, recording all cashbook, accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, preparation of vat calculations, paye returns and reconciliations and the submission of workmens' comp returns. I perform a review of the intercompany loan accounts and suspense accounts. I also perform the payroll function for two of the businesses with a total of 109 employees. I offer senior level bookkeeping and (accounting) system support to the other members of the finance Team, and take a leadership and mentorship role with my colleagues as and when needed.
