Bio
Katy Morrison
Kim is an excellent manager who stayed on top of managing a multi-generational staff while keeping up with the budget and institutional goals and events.
Dr. Christina Smiraglia
Kim was my primary supervisor when I interned at the Nantucket Historical Association in the summer of 2008. She created an internship experience for each of the four education interns that blended reflection on theory with practical applications, making sure we got a diverse range of experiences that not only let us build a broader skill set, but also made the internship fun. Although the museum had specific projects on which we were to work that had been communicated during our interviews, Kim gave us creative control in the execution of those duties, allowing us to draw on our personal interests and strengths. She was friendly, approachable, easy to access, and yet provided clear expectations on our goals. In addition to her role as supervisor, she was also my housemate, as we were all housed in a Museum-owned historic building. In that role, she was a very pleasant companion who balanced her role as housemate and supervisor effortlessly, making us feel comfortable and relaxed. I strongly recommend Kim for any museum education position; not only does she have a solid grasp of pedagogical and museological theory and a talent at managing employees, but she is a joy to work with!
