Oversees community revitalization and development efforts, faith-based and arts collaboratives, resident leadership development and neighborhood branding initiatives. Serves as project manager for a $500,000 community stabilization grant to benefit the Druid Hills neighborhood. Coordinates critical partnerships with national and local organizations including NeighborWorks America and the McColl Center for Art + Innovation. These partnerships have resulted in the first environmental art installations within the 100-acre BrightWalk campus, public art being slated for the Statesville Avenue Corridor and renovations to Anita Stroud and Druid Hills Parks. Led the first ever state-funded education reform program with a mission of increasing parental investments in low-achieving schools in order to improve student performance. Assisted superintendents in Anson, Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties in developing, implementing and evaluating research-based programs. The program received national acclaim from the Forum for Youth Investment as well as support from lawmakers in the North Carolina General Assembly for four budget cycles.
