Research under Dr. Kristin Black NC Baby Love Plus- In April 2019, the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau funded the NC Baby Love Plus (NC BLP) Program for a five-year period (April 2019-March 2024). The goal of NC BLP is to improve birth outcomes and the health of reproductive age women through strengthening perinatal systems of care, building family resilience, promoting quality services, and increasing community capacity to address the perinatal disparity. NC BLP will provide education and case management services to: (1) referred pregnant participants throughout the interconception period with their children up to 18 months after birth; (2) preconception women; and (3) fathers of child participants and male partners of pregnant or interconception women. The purpose of this contract is to support and conduct evaluation, analysis, and reporting activities for NC BLP. Efforts would include using primary and secondary data sources, including vital records, Medicaid claims, health department administrative records, and local surveys to provide information on birth outcomes, use of perinatal health services, and consumer and program staff feedback about experiences with the healthcare system. The evaluation also includes formal and informal surveys of local stakeholders and consumers regarding their experience with services and systems of care. Show less
