At Monash, I have collaborated with senior academic staff in the School of Social Sciences on major research projects evaluating how public institutions have responded to increasingly social and economic inequality. Among these projects, I am the co-author on four final reports (most recently with Victorian Department of Premier & Cabinet CALD Communities Taskforce). I have also collaborated with leading researchers to run public events, including taking a lead role in organising a public forum on the mental health and well being of international students. I have contributed to several funding applications, including a successful tender to evaluate social and economic inclusion programs for Wyndham City Council (AUD$228,384). Show less

In my role of Librarian, I worked with faculties across the university to support the research and learning needs of students. This involved group and individual consultations on searching and critically examining the scholarly literature, as well as using e-learning software (Adobe Captivate, H5P, Moodle, Articulate Storyline) to develop tailored education products. A particular highlight was collaborating with a unit coordinator on the design and development of a blended learning session on portfolio development for postgraduate students in the School of Media, Film and Journalism, which has since been adapted and deployed across multiple units. In my role at the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, I demonstrated the technical capacity to connect diverse collections data into national information systems. I was also strongly involved in initiating and undertaking a special collections digitisation project, which made historic protest materials, DIY films, and community radio broadcasts publicly accessible, and was involved in political and social justice campaigns alongside Victorian nurses and midwives. I departed this role in 2020 to complete my PhD. Show less

In my role at Deakin University, I played a lead role in supporting the day-to-day information and learning needs of students across several faculties. I was highly regarded for my ability to solve complex problems for students and manage competing demands at a busy service point. I took pride in my responsibility to manage, train and lead casual and ongoing staff. A highlight of this role was my involvement in a major library refurbishment project, 'Transforming Academic Library Spaces' (2012), as well as the opportunity to act in several more senior roles (including Service Desk Librarian and Library Services Specialist). I departed this role in 2013 to undertake my undergraduate degree at Monash University. Show less
