Spent 5 months working with elite young boxers through the University College Birmingham as part of my masters degree. Programming focused on increasing strength and power whilst limiting increases in muscle mass. This was achieved primarily through heavy resistance training <5 reps, with a focus on ballistic and plyometric training to increase rate of force development. This allowed me to gain experience working with a new population to achieve physiological and anatomical chances to benefit performance using a research based approach.

Worked in a voluntary capacity as the head coach of the successful University of Birmingham Australian Rules football club. A tough year spent lurching in and out of lockdown required man management skills to ensure player happiness and motivation was maintained. Combined extended knowledge of the game and personal skills to teach the sport to beginners as well as developing existing players. This really tested my ability to communicate ideas and techniques whilst socially distanced, as well as not training for extended time periods.
