Kierna Brown

Kiera was my supervisor for two years at Eastern Michigan University. Years later, I still reflect on her leadership. Kiera made sure her team felt heard, she ensured we shared our workload among our peers, and she knew how to make sure we could have fun in even the scariest times. From catching spewing water in umbrellas during facility issues: to mediating roommate conflict on a female-only identifying floor, to holding her team of 10 together as our building caught on fire displacing 60 residents and two student staff members in the wee hours of the morning, Kiera was always present and persistent. Through Kiera's leadership, I found my passion for higher education and student affairs, and I could not imagine where I would be now without her guidance.
