Procure goods and materials in accordance with customer and operational requirements in line with policies, procedures, safety standards and code of ethics. Attend training in procurement practices and procedures or other courses as directed. Conduct market research and maintain up to date with developments within the designated category assigned. Identify potential savings opportunities and take appropriate action. Complete feasibility study for the potential cost saving. Maintain a record of cost savings made through the competitive procurement of goods and services. Develop and maintain professional and productive relationships with internal customers and external suppliers. Liaise with Inventory Supervisor and Warehouse Supervisor to prevent stock outs. Liaise with port staff at Masawa via the Asmara logistics superintendent to prioritize urgently required containers to be transported to Bisha. Prepare detailed status reports for management and end users confirming delivery commitments and advising of any significant potential delinquent items.
