    • Mailroom Assistant
      • Sep 2015 - Jun 2016

My job at the mailroom was very straightforward, I was responsible for sorting any incoming mail from the all carriers we worked with and communicating with the mailmen if there were issues or questions on our side. (FedEx, DHL, USPS, UPS, etc.) I would log the packages into our school's sorting system and then sorted the mail according to building and alphabetical order. I kept the mailroom tidy with the other students working there. I also dealt with the students face to face when they needed to pick up a package or mail a package out. Show less

    • Computer Consultant
      • Aug 2013 - May 2016

As a computer consultant I had an assortments of responsibilities; my main job was to help customers troubleshoot any issues they might have had with frozen screens, mice, glitchy software, etc. I was also around to help customers with any questions that had about programs (Microsoft, Excel, etc.), issues with the school sites (lost passwords, how to use or look up information, etc.). Other duties included cleaning computers, tidying up the computer labs, enforcing the lab rules, etc. Occasionally, I worked at the Help desk phone line where I took calls from users experiencing computer issues; it gave me a lot of customer service experience. • English Language Teacher
      • Aug 2014 - Jun 2015

This was officially a scholarship/ Study abroad program but I was placed in a public elementary school in a town called Cheonan. I taught grades 1through 6 in my afterschool classroom and assisted the Korean English teacher with her 5th and 6th grade classes. I was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of my afterschool students, around 40 children, as well as planning lessons and activities for their classes. I had to turn in a detailed set of lesson plans every week to my mentor, the English teacher at the school. I have provided a link to my Digication Eportfolio with examples of my lesson plans from my time in Korea: https://stonybrook.digication.com/kiani_hernandez1/Welcome/?& Show less
