I worked there for five months. Shift based schedule. For total +1200 hrs work. It was a huge step for me after I finished my internship (March 2019) and started my professional work. I have learnt so much in both medical and non-medical fields. I gained experience on how to treat patients, how to work in a team, and how to balance between medical management and human level. I have earned wonderful relationships with different colleagues, workers, and patients that are still strong across time and even after leaving work there. My main tasks are: 1. Preoperative assessment and postoperative observation and follow up of inpatients. 2. Examination and management of cases at ER. 3. Examination and management of cases at clinic. 4. Inoperative assessing. I worked with a complete medical team of consultants, physicians and nurses. I have tested my skill and knowledge in different medical fields across wide variety of patients (Egyptians and foreigners). Main bulk of cases are: 1. General surgery. 2. Plastic surgery. 3. Orthopedic surgery. Other cases were: 1. Oncology cases. 2. Oncosurgery cases. 3. Neurosurgery cases. 4. Bariatric surgery cases. 5. Vascular surgery cases. The main pitfalls which I have found are: 1. There is not very large number of medical meetings or lectures. 2. Assisting in operations is not systematized. Was a bit exhausting and not included in work hours. 3. Not very strong contact between resident and case consultant in many times. Specially in private cases. I'd rate my experience there very good. I value each and every person I worked with at the hospital. Show less

    • General Practitioner
      • Apr 2019 - Dec 2019

It is my first step in the medical work outside university hospitals. I got the chance to start the morning clinic from scratch. After convincing the leader-board, we started preparing the clinic and equipped it with tools, material and medications. I gathered a team of three doctors to cover the week with me. Later, they have been replaced over and over. I brought up some ideas for marketing, designed some posters and people liked it very much. I have learnt so much in both medical and non-medical fields. I gained experience on how to take decision in a case, how to work in a team, and how to balance between medical management and human level. I have earned wonderful relationships with different colleagues, workers, and patients that are still strong across time and even after leaving work there. Work Stats: - I started work on 1st of April 2019. - I Ended work on 31st of December 2019. - Work duration is nine months (Shift based schedule). - Total workdays is 60 days (+720 hrs.). My main tasks are: 1. Obtaining and recording a full structured patient history. 2. Proper physical examination and assessment. 3. Selection of appropriate investigations and interpretation of common lab and imaging findings. 4. Making differential diagnosis, essential management and follow up. 5. Performing Outpatient and ER procedures. I have tested my skill and knowledge in different medical fields across wide variety of patients (Egyptians and foreigners). Cases Stats: - Total number of cases ≈ 100 cases. - Examination ≈ 40 cases. - Administration of medications and management ≈ 40 cases. - Other services ≈ 20 cases. The main pitfalls which I have found are: 1. There is not very large number of cases (not high flow). 2. Some defects in nursing staff. 3. Not very strong contact between center and patients. I would rate my experience there (very Good). I value everybody I worked with at the hospital. Show less
