I had the pleasure of working with Keziah at Land Resources International for two years, from 2007 to 2009. Keziah worked as an Application Developer for the company. Although I didn't work closely with Keziah in her department, much of her work required collaboration with the GIS department in which I worked. I always found Keziah to be confident and extremely efficient, with an incredible work ethic, always willing to go above and beyond what was required. Dealing with difficult clients and working conditions, she always managed to get the job done without any complaints, and always brought a positive, enthusiastic energy to the office. I found her to be a very kind, encouraging person, always looking for the best in people. Keziah would be a great leader and an asset to any company she worked for.

It’s my great pleasure to recommend Keziah Naidoo. As a Business Analyst under her leadership, I’ve been extremely impressed with Keziah’s skills as a product manager, her commitment to colleagues & clients, and overall acumen. I have no doubt she will bring the same enthusiasm, rigor, and dedication to any organization. Along with her enthusiasm, positive energy, and attentiveness to client & organizational needs, Keziah has led Fruit South Africa to become a force in the digitization of the South African fruit export industry. This effectively has put South Africa among one of the peers on the world stage of the export market. She has also provided excellent support to our clients and helping build long-term relationships. She’s also been a tremendous contributor to our team internally, crafting processes to help our team run more smoothly. Keziah is extremely accountable to deadlines and skilled at working independently, while at the same time is proactive about contributing to the team and collaborating with her colleagues. Because she’s so accountable and communicative, I have no doubt that Keziah will excel in any team. As a Business Analyst under her leadership, I can attest that Keziah is an impressive, reliable, consistent, and creative person who supports her colleagues, takes initiative, and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Keziah stands out for her kindness, commitment, and initiative, and I’m completely confident she will surpass all expectations when joining your company. • I was one of the pioneers in creating the first paperless systems for the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD). • I programmed the PhytClean platform, in MVC, which is responsible for ensuring orchard compliancy. This is a central online database storing phytosanitary information for Food Business Operators and orchards and is used for decision-making during export. All fruit exported to special markets has been mandated by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development(DALRRD) to go through PhytClean for phytosanitary compliance.• Also manage the eCert project which is a first for South Africa. It removes the paper from the export process and allows for the electronic processing, verification, and delivering of data to the export country. • This platform is continually expanding to cater for new products and digitizing more paper based processes so I’m involved in meetings to discuss this and to map out the requirements.• Requirements gathering, product specification, product development, test cases• Lead stand-ups, sprint planning and project planning sessions• Responsible for creating user stories and user tasks for the development team• Interview new resources and manage existing staff• Drawing up letters of offers and staff contracts• Managing project progress and adapting work as required• Oversee all projects, ensure that the development is completed on time and within spec• Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders and liaising with the different fruit associations• Analysis of data using SQL and creation of reports• Mentor and upskill new team members

      • Created a data warehouse, in SQL, that keeps snapshots of data on a daily and monthly basis. I added more features to it so that we could slice and dice the data in every way possible • The data from the warehouse is rendered in two ways. One way is through the web using the reporting tool I created at Summit Solutions which we bought licences to. The second is using PowerPivot in Excel as it consumes far more data and processes it at a quicker rate • Maintained existing IT projects and managed new projects from specification all the way through to testing and implementation • I developed SQL Server jobs that were responsible for updating our warehouse with the latest information, ftp’ing data to external parties, notifying users when errors occurred as well as scripts to correct bad data • I utilized SQL Server Reporting Services to distribute reports to management on a weekly basis • Very involved in the ETL process • Training other members of the operations team in the different IT languages and programs • Rewriting the reporting tool and interface used by the Crop department • I not only managed all our software projects but also did the bulk of coding of our in-house software • Assist and mentor team members • Ensure that deliverables were ready on time

      • Developed the company’s core reporting product that is being sold as a SAAS now. This was developed using a Flash/ActionScript front-end, a C#.net business layer and a SQL backend. A third party component called AnyChart was used to render the visualization • I also developed plugins which were added to the visualisation and reporting tool. One of these plugins was a GIS component which used Google Maps Enterprise and showed in real time what a truck’s position was • Created Windows services which were responsible for the creation of pdfs and Excel reports on the fly, and the dissemination of these reports to the end users. This is an automated process that is managed through a scheduler I created in Flash • Responsible for training junior staff members • Oversee a team of developers • Skilled in all phases of the SDLC • The agile methodology was used for the bigger projects • I was solely responsible for publishing all web applications to the live environment • Developed a mobile version of the in-house reporting and visualisation tool. This was done in Adobe AIR with a C#.NET business layer and SQL backend. This application was distributed onto Android, Apple and Windows platforms. This is available in the Google Play Store and iTunes Store

Once in an area with internet connectivity they could sync that data with the live database • I wrote a tool that automatically generated the research reports using the images, coordinates etc. that was captured in the Wetlander app above

I saved them lots of time and manpower and gave them the correct data delivered to their desk which was a huge win as it normally took multiple people, many days to generate the figures. • I was involved in a team of 3 which started the first warehousing project and extracted data from the warehouse cubes (such as daily figures) and published it via the intranet to the 120 branches. • Developed a web application to manage staff telephone calls and run exception reports • I was involved in developing the Extraction, Transformation and Loading process (ETL) for a data mart as well as debugging existing ones
