This program is designed to help facilitate conversations in the community of Fort Collins. We facilitate conversations about issues people in the community feel are important. We are trained to facilitate these conversations through deliberation and not through debating. We are trained to facilitate using deliberation because the issues we discuss are wicked problems and there is no way to solve these problems. Since there is no way to solve these problems we are trained to look at multiple perspectives, include all stakeholders, highlight key tensions, look at benefits, look at trade offs, and create common ground among participants. This program also gave me experience with public relations. Show less

Ambassador
-
Feb 2016 - May 2019
Ambassador for the program Key Communities and I recruit high school students to join Key Communities. Most of the students I am in contact with are high seniors but we also talk to juniors and sophomores as well. We speak at CSU events such as: Choose CSU and Discover CSU to spread awareness to high school students about Key Communities. Additionally, I make phone calls to students and families of high school seniors who have been accepted to CSU. I make phone calls to try to convince them to join Key or to answer any questions they have about Key to determine their interest. Show less
