I was a member of an hotel installation crew that were part of a multi-million dollar renovation of the Mariott Hotel in Downtown Calgary. My duties included unloading furniture from delivery trucks and bringing it to the correct rooms then unpacking and placing the furniture in it's correct position. I made the hotel rooms were in good order to hand over to hotel housekeeping so they could ready them for guests. I was employed at Oliver's Candies Ltd (a renowned and long running candy producer in Calgary) on a temporary basis but was kept on for a longer period. I mainly worked in the lollipop producing side of the company. I was involved in the making of the lollipop mixture and then the molding, quality control and packaging of the lollipops for shipping. I also occasionally helped out in the chocolate producing side of the factory. I carried out some general duties like housekeeping, aiding in deliveries and shipments and clerical work.

My duties including removing old furniture and stripping fixtures in the hotel rooms and disposing of them. I also unloaded trailers of deliveries and bringing the new furniture into the newly painted and carpeted hotel rooms. I also occasionally helped other trades with work. I was employed short term on an excavation at a wind farm in Cashel, Co. Tipperary. I was involved in the excavation of a 5000 year old Bronze Age cremation cemetery. I excavated, sampled and recorded a number of cremation burials. I was also was involved in the trowel back of the excavated site. Trainee Archaeologist

I was employed at Cotswold Archaeology as part of a trainee-ship. Duties include excavation and recording of various types of features on excavations, drawing and GPS surveying of trenches and retrieval of finds and samples across various projects across central England. I gained experience in both of multi-trench evaluations and striped area excavations Office based duties included washing, bagging, marking and storing of finds along with other post-excavation duties and also general housekeeping.

Volunteer Excavator

Four weeks excavation at Rathnadrinna multivallate ringfort in Cashel, Co. Tipperary. I was a volunteer excavator on this dig. My work at the site involved troweling, mattocking and shoveling of a trench. I also carried out the excavation of features such as postholes, stakeholes and ditches through half sections as well as full excavation. I also carried out the planning of excavated features, filling out of context sheets, retrieval and labelling of soil samples as well as sieving soil from the excavated trenches.

My work at the site involved troweling, mattocking and shoveling. I also carried out the retrieval of disarticulated human remains as well as general finds. I carried out recording of finds in a Finds Register. I carried out a small amount of surveying using a engineers level. I also carried out the washing of finds.
