Despite extremely tight timescales and high pressure, it was successfully deployed on time. I easily adapted to unfamiliar working procedures, documented, coded and tested new batch reports and the “Raise Requisition” and “Authorise Requisition” online screens. LORS (Lloyd’s Outward Reinsurance System) was developed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of data entry for re-insurance business by incorporating EDI messaging. • Liaised closely with technical experts, including IBM, to learn new message translation software and produce a detailed design for a first of its kind, event-driven system. It was developed to spec and still consistently delivers an error free service. I received recognition from IBM for my design. • Programmed all applications (PL/1, CICS, SQL,DB2) that interfaced with the translation software providing a stable, accurate service. • Created EDIFACT message structures and defined the security and mapping of data to enable approved brokers and syndicates to seamlessly interact with LORS.
