I worked onsite at two projects for this summer: the ODOT-owned Transportation Boulevard bridge widening project in Garfield Heights and an exhaust chamber repair at a government research facility. Similar to my previous summer, my tasks included assisting the supervision (project engineer and superintendents) with daily reports, force accounts, quantity tracking, accounting, and time sheets. Out in the field, I helped the crews with ordering and picking up supplies and material, maintenance of traffic, laboring, and surveying. The major work on the bridge-widening project that I was there for included false-decking, installation of new bridge piers, deck slab removal, bridge deck formwork, and drainage structure installation. The major work on the exhaust chamber repair included hand-demolition of floor, walls, and ceiling; one-sided formwork, and millwright work (installation of stainless steel plates).

I worked on-site at the ODOT-owned Lakefront West Shoreway renovation project on the west-side of Cleveland. Some of my tasks included assisting the supervision (project engineer and superintendents) with daily reports, force accounts, quantity tracking, accounting, and time sheets. Out in the field, I helped the crews with ordering and picking up supplies and material, maintenance of traffic, laboring, surveying, and assisting subcontractors as needed. The major work that we performed during my time there included hand-poured sidewalk, slab-on-grade, decorative, and curb concrete work; full-depth pavement repairs; dirt-moving; and pavement demolition.
