      • May 2012 - May 2019

I design performance and aesthetic products for spas and bath tubs. These included spa jets, fittings, display panels (button and touch screens), and housings for electrical components. I created, edited and updated part models and drawings in SolidWorks, Creo, and Pro/Engineer. This also included making assemblies, BOMs, ECNs, and part inspection sheets for quality control. I worked mainly on product design and injection mold design. I also did prototype testing through the use if 3D printers. I followed projects through from concept to production. I worked closely with our tooling, molding, sales, and quality departments throughout the design process. Show less

      • Aug 2010 - May 2011

Under the Composite Sealing Systems Division, I worked on my senior project along with three other students. Our goal was to design and build a semi-automated system that would eliminate human contact with a very small part as it went through the manufacturing process. All of this needed to be done in a confined clean room setting. To accomplish that, we designed, built, and programmed a 3-axis pick and place robotic system that allowed the part to be transported and accurately positioned. My group completed our project on time and we successfully built a working 3-axis pick and place robotic system for small parts. While working on this project, I gained industry experience throughout the design process. I built positive relationships with both my group members and the Parker Hannifin staff that met with us regularly. I also gained experience in communicating with group members, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, and managers. I took initiative throughout the project from early design concepts to troubleshooting the final product. For example, our group encountered an issue with a main component in our design that was being used in a way that the manufacturer did not recommend. To avoid the risk of the system failing, I proposed a modified design that which allowed for a full range of motion and easy part pickup and placement. We implemented the new design and it ended up being simpler and more reliable. Show less
