Currently I work as an Assistant Clinical Director at New Haven. My responsibilities consist of management duties as well as therapeutic work, including individual, family and group therapy. I work with the therapists and staff to maintain an environment that is conducive to the growth of the girls at New Haven. Additionally I run a weekly treatment team meeting where we discuss the progress of all of the girls and families in our care to make sure that they are continually moving forward in meeting their goals.

Transition Specialist

May 2006 - Mar 2009
At Homeward Bound I traveled around the country working with families whose teens were returning from residential or wilderness programs. I would work with the families prior to the transition home and then go to the families home during the first week their son or daughter returned. The visits would last about two days and during that time I would work on communication, parenting, rules and consequences and helping the teen become established in the community with the support that they would need as they transitioned home.

At Southwest Counseling Service I worked to provide individual, family, and couple therapy. I was trained in the best practice therapy, Functional Family Therapy. Additionally I worked on the suicide crisis line where I would take crisis calls in Sweetwater county. During these calls I would work with suicidal individuals who were calling the line to get support. I would follow up with emergency room suicide attempts and follow up to make sure they had the necessary resources.
