    • Heat Treat Operations and Maintenance
      • Mar 2020 - Mar 2022

I worked with industrial furnaces to heat treat in process parts. While working with mainly steel, we performed the following operations: Annealing to alter the physical and sometimes chemical properties of the steel to increase its ductility and reduce its hardness, making it more workable. Carbonitriding to increase the surface hardness of the steel thereby reducing wear. During the process, atoms of carbon and nitrogen diffuse interstitially into the metal, creating barriers to slip, increasing the hardness and modulus near the surface. Hardening to increase the hardness of the steel. Tempering to improve the characteristics of the steel, by heating it to a high temperature, though below the melting point, then cooling it, usually in air and quench oil. The process has the effect of toughening by lessening brittleness and reducing internal stresses. We also performed copper plating, copper stripping, and chromizing. Show less

    • Aerospace Assembly and Testing
      • Aug 2017 - Mar 2020

I was responsible for building and testing aerospace clutches. Some parts were deemed flight safety critical, so attention to detail, as well as a strict adherence to the blueprints and testing procedures were a must.

I ran multiple machines in a cell. For the first year, I would use a Samsung CNC Lathe to rough boar an inner race. After that I would cut the keyway for the inner race on a broach machine. Next, I would finish grind on a Bryant Universal I.D. Grinder. Lastly, I would finish grind the O.D. of the inner race on a Toyoda CNC O.D. Grinder. After that first year, we replaced the grinders, and installed a second Samsung CNC Lathe that we used to hard turn the O.D. and I.D.

    • Rebuild Service Department
      • Nov 2014 - Sep 2015

I worked with industrial clutches coming back for service and or warranty. When the clutches were in shop I would tear them down, clean them up, and work with the engineers to figure out what could be salvaged in order to rebuild the clutch. While doing this, I would take measurements to ascertain whether parts were still in tolerance, and analyzed wear patterns to make sure everything was running properly. Once a decision had been made, I would rebuild the clutch using the salvaged and new components. Show less

    • Shipping & Receiving
      • Oct 2012 - Nov 2014

I mainly organized all out bound shipments. On average, I was responsible for shipping 2.5 - 3.5 million dollars a month. I made sure everything was packaged properly, all data input processes in SAP were done correctly, and made sure all documentation such as customs invoices, NAFTA's, and certifications were accurate and ready to accompany the shipment out. Furthermore, I was tasked with scheduling all outbound shipments with various freight companies such as UPS, FedEx, and major LTL trucking companies. I was also responsible for setting up shipments with freight forwarders to foreign countries such as Australia, Japan, China, South Africa, Germany, and many more. Show less
