Responsible for 5,000 staff; 2,600 residents living in 34 Residential Aged Care Homes; 409 Independent Living Units (ILUs); 4,500 Home Care, Community Care and Disability clients; $300m turnover and budget.When I joined Mercy Health in November 2015 they were looking to grow their business and needed a leader aligned to Mercy values to grow and develop their aged and community care portfolio. They had 22 residential care homes, a $17m Home and Community Care business, including 292 Home Care Packages, with a combined turnover of $180m. Under my leadership, two and a half years later they have 34 residential care homes, a $60m Home and Community Care business, including 2,000 Home Care Packages (the largest in VIC), with a combined turnover of $300m.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Board.When I started at Holy Spirit Care Services (HSCS) they had just completed the acquisition of 2 residential care homes and a retirement village in Cairns from the Cairns Diocese. The Cairns homes were operating at significant losses and a strategic response with strong financial management was required to turn performance around and sustain HCSC’s broader operations and the Holy Spirit Sisters ministry in aged care. As CEO the performance of HSCS was improved through a $145m strategic redevelopment program and improved financial and KPI management to a sustainable and profitable business.
