I have worked with Kevin three times on different projects. Kevin is an all round professional with a great attitide to getting the job done right. He's able to weigh up the pros and cons quickly and come up with a solution that works. Having not worked with Kevin for a number of years and then finding ourselves on the same contract it wasn't suprising to see that Kevin was a very well respected member of the team who's attitude and contribution to the project were first rate and therefore I knew I would be on a successful project - which I was. If I was hiring I'd be knocking on his door first.

Kevin always delivers robust solutions to meet requirements and solve complex problems. He has strong change management skills which are underpinned by detailed product knowledge and excellent IT skills and he is a great influence in any project team required to deliver under pressure.

Crawford and Co are a major Insurance Management business dealing with claims management handling for all the major Insurance Companies, such as AXA, Aviva, Allianz etc. Following on from the buyout of a competitor in 2015, Crawford and Co embarked upon the migration of all claims from the competitors Claims Mgt system (OPERAFLO) into the core system used by Crawford (PRIME). An aggressive migration with VERY short timescales and a target live date of August 2016 (AGILE Environment, daily standups etc). I was brought in to design and document the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and mapping rules to enable a successful migration to happen. Extensive and deep dive source/target database SQL analysis and mining etc. Elicitation of Requirements and Mapping workshops with business/technical SMEs etc, working with test team/developers to analyse and resolve migration issues. Migration successfully went LIVE on 30th July 2016. (1 month early). *Contract ended due to budget/project constraints in October 2016 *Invited back January 2017 to work on new project to fully automate the feed of new claims from AXA into Crawford thus doing away with human intervention into Crawfords internal systems... Contract finished 10th December 2017 Show less

Engaged by Practicus, who were a consultancy running a small number of projects on behalf of LBG to remediate several applications away from various NT4 servers onto more recent technology, such as Win2008 R2 to enable LBG to decommission all NT4 servers across the entire group. I was engaged in part to assist with several of these application remediations. However, my primary role was to focus on the remediation/migration of the FICO (Debt Manager v2.0) product onto Win2008 R2 by engaging with the various infrastructure SMEs as appropriate and working closely with the PM for the project to reach a successful conclusion. (I had previously worked for FICO as an implementation consultant for Debt Manager. Debt Manager is a workflow based Collections and Recovery application used extensively by major banks, utilities and other businesses). Show less

Engaged on a short term (three month) data project to execute detailed analysis of data quality issues within in house systems, the nature of the issue, the cause and likely rectification of the data issues. I was tasked with producing a report that was to go back to the business with recommendations for them to act upon. This involved:- * Engaging with both business and technical IT areas to identify and understand key data issues * Execute detailed deep dive database analysis (Using SQL) on those data issues and come up with proposals to:- i) Retrain users and/or change business process to reduce and eventually cease the issues continuing iii) Propose system wide changes, such as improvements to data input validation to assist users in this respect, date validation etc iii) Propose and prototype processes such as new SQL scripts etc to fix and data-cleanse the in-situ data quality issues iv) Propose ongoing audit reporting to identify and monitor growing data quality issues and capture user data entry issues at an early stage before becoming a major issue in the future The report was completed on time and passed to Management for action Show less

Old Mutual Wealth (formally Skandia) are replacing the technology that supports much of the UK Wealth and UK Heritage businesses as part of a strategic 20 year partnership with International Financial Data Services (IFDS), known as Project Oval. This is a major commitment for OMW and the project presently occupies 400+ people across the globe. * Working as part of the analysis team tasked with migrating a ‘thin layer’ of data from various source DBs into the new frontend service OPENDOOR, to enable a single customer view to be presented to both Customers and Financial Advisors alike, when they login online. * Working closely with the third party software providers (DST Systems in Melbourne and HCL in Chennai, India) to produce the complex data mapping and functional design documentation that will enable the migration ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) software build to commence. * Data analysis via SQL (ORACLE and SQL Server) of the various source DBs to assist in the migration design as well as checking source data quality, gap analysis, building data models where required etc and raising issues where appropriate. * Engaging with the business SME’s to ensure that the migration will deliver the data and functionality as is required by the business in the new world. Unfortunately part of the project was de-scoped affecting me, so I left January 2015 Show less

Having previously completed two successful migrations with Nationwide on a prior engagement; in May 2013 I was invited back to perform a similar role to work on the analysis and design elements for a new migration of retail mortgages that had been purchased from Bank of Ireland in 2011. Although the mortgages were being administered by a third party, Homeloans Management Ltd on behalf of Nationwide, in March 2013 it was decided to migrate into the Nationwide core Customer Operations and Lending Control system, ACTIVATE/SUMMIT, with any delinquent accounts additionally migrated into the COLLECT arrears management application, both applications are supplied by SOPRA (www.sopragroup.co.uk). * Responsible for the complex data mapping and documentation of this between the source and target systems, identifying data quality issues and executing gap analysis. Developing the many design specifications and writing a large majority of the migration SQL scripts (ORACLE and SQL Server) to be used as part of the ETL migration process * Writing extensive SQL scripts to perform data mining and analysis in order to undertake data quality investigations and/or source data cleansing and gap analysis. * Acting as the initial point of contact for the test teams (offshore & onshore) whenever new QCs were raised, perform initial problem analysis and reject, accept and/or manage resolution as appropriate with the relevant internal or external development teams. The migration successfully went live on 28th Feb 2014, with minimal issues and no disruption to the business Following migration I was tasked with performing a typical BA design role for various FCA regulatory reporting projects (PSD Reporting, Mortgage Market Review MMR etc) such as interviewing both business and technical SME’s, database analysis to identify the required data, identify data gaps etc and producing the high level technical design documentation to produce the reports.
