  Bayer's Berkeley production facility manufactures life saving clotting factor VIII drugs for patients with Hemophilia. The Operational Excellence team is responsible for streamlining efficiency of the extraordinarily intricate manufacturing processes for the Kovaltry and Kogenate product lines made there. I assisted with the development and launch of a new Human Performance Initiative at the facility to identify common error traps in the manufacturing process and mitigate those risks, and when I came back for my second summer I had the pleasure of providing Supply Center leaders with heuristic analysis showcasing what a difference the initiative had made within its first year. I went through licensed training in Kepner-Tregoe Root Cause Analysis, as well as many other training relating to lean six sigma, and later led training workshops for others on these topics.
